911 assassins
by twospiritwarrior Wednesday, May. 04, 2005 at 8:27 PM

Just thought I'd start this topic b/c it's something I've come in contact w/ at work (school) quite a bit. Often people of Muslim faith assume that their god is the same as ours. They claim that Islam is a continuance of Christianity and Judaism..that the revelations of Muhammed are the best and latest revelations and therefore that whatever was claimed in Judaism and Christianity is old news/not relevant any longer. But from what I have heard and read (and know as a born again Christian) is that for me to embrace the god of Islam would be a direct contradiction to my faith. To embrace Islam would be a contradiction of the character and nature of my personal God who is holy and does not lie.

We see the character of God in Jesus.. why would we need muhammed to further expound on what was already made so perfectly clear? Would the character of my God condone returning to a works-based religion after Jesus paid it all for our sins on the cross? Would God's character (as seen through Jesus) have treated women with such respect and then turn around and through muhammed condone polygamy and reveal that women are nothing more than property/chattle (spelling?). Would the God of Jesus Christ offer heaven as a glorified prostitution house for men (72 virgins for men?)...what is in heaven for the women/children of Islam)?

I have never read the Quran, but I just read about where there are some sections (in the Dubaj? something like that) where it warns about a future tribulation.. where muslims must be ready for those who claim Jesus is more than just a prophet and who will try to force their religion upon others (???). I don't know what this means or how this will unfold...but I'm just thinking about our present Iraq situation and all the tensions rising with the extreme fundamentalists. It is interesting to note how many nationalities are represented over there (even though many have very few troops...nothing compared to our troops..but still evident). I was surprised how many third world countries (Honduras, for example) are over there.

In Revelation it talks about not adding any more information to scripture. No more revelations are necessary after Jesus Christ came. I heard this this morning on the radio: "why would you need to pay attention to a star when you've already got the SON/Sun!? " The Bibled says Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. No man can get to the father without the Son. To embrace the god of Islam would make God out to be a liar because it contradicts so much of what Jesus said, God's character, the need for salvation, etc

Try Watching the Film

If you'd bothered actually to watch the film, you would have picked up on the fact that the country in question is the United States of America (if you weren't intelligent enough to pick up on it from the film's title).

Martial law is evident in the highest prison population on earth. Of course racial minorities are the most represented. Call em prisons, or concentration camps, the undesirable by the state, incarcerate.

No, Poverty is Slavery!
by Tommy. Monday, Jun. 06, 2005 at 1:56 PM

I'm all for Stalin bashing but to be fair, there's only one nation that closely resembles Stalinist leadership on that list.

The fact that the Sudan is being condemned this year for its citizens smuggling themselves out of a genocial war while the world stood by hardly qualifies as human trafficking. As always, it's possible that intelligence services have information that we do not (seeing as though that's their job), but it's been a very "special" year in the Sudan.

It also bears mentioning that Bolivia, Togo, Jamaica, and Myanmar are among the poorest nations on Earth. If the Empire were trying to pressure their governments into action, I would argue that trade sanctions may not be the most appropiate method to deal with human trafficking. It certainly isn't the most appropriate way to deal with poverty.
