The Thunder Bay Indymedia Resource Center is open to the public. Here is some information about what the center offers and why.

In October of 2002, The Thunder Bay Indymedia Collective proudly opened the doors to your local Independent Media Resource Center.

Currently, the center offers: internet access (primarily for publishing and viewing media), shared media-making resources including photo and video editing software and hardware, media-related literature, and a space for other non-profit groups to hold meetings. In the future we will be offering various computer and media related workshops.

Overall, the purpose of the center is to facilitate citizen journalism and media-making in Northwestern Ontario through the sharing of resources and media-making skills, with the goal of community and global networking and participatory media.

If you would like to use the center, make a donation or have any questions or suggestions, please send an email to our organizational listserve: imc-thunderbay@lists.indymedia.org, give us a call at (807)345-7201, or drop by the center, located at: Suite 19c, 12 Court St. S. (second floor of the Ruttan Block).
(Note: while we try to keep regular office hours, this is not always possible so it is a good idea to call first).

If you would like to participate in the organizatinal process, make a proposal, or meet some of the people involved in organizing Thunder Bay IMC, all are welcome to attend one of our weekly meetings, Wednesdays from 7:00-9:00pm at the center.
